Sought-after Led Zeppelin II album signed on the front cover in blue ballpoint, “Best Wishes, John Bonham.” In fine condition, with a trivial brush to the start of the signature. The record is not included. Accompanied by a typed letter of provenance from the original recipient: “In 1969 I started work at a major bank in Dudley. I became a cashier in the very early seventies. The bank had extended opening hours every Thursdays. The branch would close at 3.30pm as usual and then at 4.30pm the doors were opened again until 6pm. John Bonham who was a customer of ours, visited the branch usually in the extended opening hours. As one of several cashiers serving on the counter we were all thrilled when he came through the door. I was lucky enough to serve him on many occasions and he was such a lovely man never playing on his celebrity status. Occasionally Robert Plant would accompany him. One of my colleagues Fred, worked in a different department of the branch where there were no security screens. He said that he would ask John to sign my Led Zeppelin LP the next time he served him. He held it at his work station for a few weeks until John visited his department and I was thrilled when I got his signature along with the 'Best Wishes' notation. Since that day I have kept the sleeve well protected but regularly played the LP as I love their music.”
